Radiothon
Together We Make A Difference
Thursday June 20, 2024
9am - 6pm
This is our 11th anniversary of Radiothon. In partnership with the Eagle 100.9 FM, we will be broadcasting live for 9 hours to raise funds to support health & wellness initiatives in the Foothills.
You will start hearing interviews before Radiothon from June 17 - 19 on the Eagle 100.9FM. All the organizations that receive funding from Radiothon will tell us about their health & wellness projects and the impact on the community. You will hear first hand where your donations go when you donate to Radiothon.
The members of the Foothills community are very generous. You will also hear from some of our sponsors who year after year continue to donate to Radiothon because they understand the need for local health services, wellness programs and medical equipment to keep the Foothills healthy.
Radiothon Community Organization Grant Recipients
This year we are supporting the following community organizations:
-
Calgary Rural Primary Care Network
-
Foothills Family Medical Centre
-
Helping Families Handle Cancer
-
Inclusion Foothills Association
-
It Takes a Village Okotoks Community Foundation
-
KidSport Okotoks
-
Okotoks Family Resource Centre
-
Orenda Community Youth and Family Society
-
Solace Grief Support Society

Radiothon is not just a broadcast.
It's also a Block Party!
And YOU are invited!

A Block Party is a street event where community businesses and residents come together to celebrate and support their local neighbourhood.
This party has something for everyone!

-
Radiothon broadcasting outdoors so we can all take part.
-
A dynamic Donation Centre where you can donate by phone, Tip Tap Pay, Credit Card, Cash or cheque.
-
Food trucks and seating for your lunch and dinner with a variety of options, including treats!
(10% of proceeds from sales on-site go to support Radiothon.)
-
Local vendors with an array of goods made right here in the Foothills. (When you buy on-site, vendors make a donation towards Radiothon.)
-
Amazing prizes for those that make at least a $25 donation in person. (Everyone is a winner because donors get stickers!)
Interested in becoming a Block Party Neighbour?
A Block Party Neighbour is a business that is part of the community around the Radiothon and the Eagle Studios.
Not able to sponsor, but want to support Radiothon? Every little bit counts.
Our Neighbours are throwing in-store fundraisers where $1 from every sale on June 20 goes towards Radiothon. (We are also open to discussing different terms.)
We mention them on-air and promote their businesses to our guests.

Community Art Program
The Community Art Program is a partnership between Sheep River Health Trust and the local artists in the Foothills. It's an amazing oppourtunity to showcase the talent and creativity within our community.

The artist chooses the title and the price for the piece. We then hang their creations on display in the halls at the Okotoks Health & Wellness Centre.

Once artwork is sold, funds are paid to the artist with twenty percent of the proceeds donated to the Trust.

Every four months we hold an "Art Change"
where artists are asked to come pick up any unsold art and bring in new pieces for display. That way we keep our halls fresh with new creations.

For more information about displaying your art or purchasing a piece seen at the Okotoks Health & Wellness Centre, contact Sheep River Health Trust at 403-995-5400 or sheepriver.healthtrust@ahs.ca.

If you are not able to physically visit the Okotoks Health & Wellness Centre, follow us on facebook and Instagram where we feature a different artist each week.

Leave your legacy
Memorial
We extend our condolences to you and your family during this time of loss. When you lose a loved one, it may seem that no gesture is adequate to show how much that person means to you.
Making a memorial donation is an opportunity to pay tribute to someone who touched your life in a significant way.

Thoughtful donors’ names and addresses will be provided to the family contact but amounts will not be revealed.

Setting up memorial contributions with the Sheep River Health Trust is quick and easy

Please notify us of the following by phone, email or mail:
– Your Loved one’s full name.
– Full name and address of the family contact for us to send notifications to as we begin to receive donations in your loved one’s name.
– The specific fund to which you wish the gift to be applied.
Securities
People who own stocks, bonds, or mutual funds are happy when their investments increase. Unfortunately, when you convert your investment to cash, the capital gain is taxable. By directly donating your publicly listed securities to the Sheep River Health Trust, you will pay no capital gains tax on their increase in value.

The Trust will provide you with a charitable tax receipt for the full market value on the day
they are received in our account. This tax receipt:
– will help you immediately reduce the amount of tax you pay on your income
– may be carried forward if your donation exceeds your annual limit and used in any of the next five years
– may help reduce the taxes on your estate in the year of your death – and allow more of your estate to go to your beneficiaries

If you would like more information, please contact us.
Future
Bequest: Leaving a bequest to the Sheep River Health Trust in your will is a way to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Life Insurance: You can name the Trust as the owner or beneficiary of your existing life insurance, or you can create a new life insurance policy and donate it to the Trust.

Endowed Gifts: With endowed funds, the donation is invested and the earned income is directed annually to support highest priority programs or areas of special interest to the donor.

If you would like more information on how you can make a difference or if you have already made arrangements for a planned gift, please phone 403-995-5400. If you would prefer that your gift remains anonymous, we will respect your wishes.
