David Lynn


The Board of Trustees for the Sheep River Health Trust (SRHT) is pleased to announce that David Lynn has agreed to be the Interim Executive Director of the Trust for the next several months. David and his wife Lynn are long time Okotoks residents. David served as Superintendent of Schools for Foothills School Division #38 from 1986 until December 31, 1999. He is a nationally recognized educator being awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Canadian Association of School Administrators in 1999. Since retiring David has worked on two international development projects in Kosovo and Jordan. David was invited to join the Board of the SRHT in the spring of 2008. He led the Board through the development of its business plan after which he took a leave to work in Jordan. David’s involvement with the community has included being a Charter Member of the Okotoks Rotary Club (1988 – 2001), a committee member on the Calgary Health Region’s Study on the End of Life (life planning), a member of the Senate and Chair of its Public Relations Committee for the University of Calgary, a member of Board of Directors of the Alberta Mentor Foundation for Youth and the Calgary Educational Partnership Foundation as well as being a six year member of the Okotoks Municipal Planning Commission. David has also been a member of the Executives and President of both the College of Alberta School Superintendents and BC High School Sports. David’s mandate with the Trust is to strengthen its organizational structure and effectiveness and prepare it to recruit a highly effective permanent Executive Director.
David is very much aware of the vision and mission of SRHT. Both David and the Board look forward to working together and with the communities of Okotoks, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Longview, Millarville, Priddis, DeWinton and Heritage Heights to strengthen programs and services within our health facilities and their outreach programs.
