Welcome to the Sheep River Health Trust

The Sheep River Health Trust (SRHT) provides needed medical equipment and Health Care services for people in your community. SRHT raises funds for urgently needed programs, services and equipment that support health care in our community that are not provided for by government funding.

Our health care system is definitely showing the stresses and strains associated with an ever expanding population. We are currently facing:

shortages in physicians and other medical staffing,
longer waits for diagnostic analysis and treatments,
increased support for an aging population requiring all medical services especially assisted living, long term care and home care.

Our goal in 2009 is to raise $300,000 to support urgently needed equipment, services and programs which foster compassion, provide greater support for patients, accuracy in monitoring and cutting edge technology.

Annual Appeal Campaign

We are celebrating 15 years of being “dedicated to the provision of quality health services for our community. Through cooperation with the health care providers and volunteers, our goal is to raise funds to enhance and support community health services in areas not provided for by government funding”. (Mission Statement)

During those 15 years, 100’s of pieces of equipment have been funded and in more recent years, there has also been a move towards supporting programs and services focused on individual and community wellness and prevention. Programs for parents, babies, young children, seniors and those with special needs. We have greatly appreciated the support of our community service clubs, and organizations, local businesses, corporate sponsors, and caring/sharing individuals. The opportunities and needs within the health care services continue to expand/increase in our ever changing world. Only with your support, your contributions can the Sheep River Health Trust continue to fulfill this mission.

Golf 4 Wellness Tournament

The aim of the 6th Annual Golf 4 Wellness Tournament is to raise $95,000. These funds will be used to support community health & wellness programs, health care services and to purchase vitally needed equipment for The Oilfields General Hospital, Rising Sun Long Term Care Facility (both in Black Diamond) and the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre to ensure exemplary health care and well being for citizens we serve in this region.
